A general strategy for high-throughput experimental screening of promising bulk thermoelectric materials

High-throughput (HTP) experiments play key roles in accelerating the discovery of advanced materials, but HTP preparation and characterization, especially for bulk samples, are extremely difficult. In this work, we developed a novel general strategy screening high-performance thermoelectric materials. The performed full-chain cover rapid synthesis sample with quasi-continuous composition, microarea phase identification structure analysis, measurement spatial distribution electrical thermal transport properties. According to our experiments, Bi2−xSbxTe3 (x = 1−2) Bi2Te3−xSex 0−1.5) samples compositions have been rapidly fabricated by method. target materials best Sb/Bi Te/Se ratios successfully screened out based on subsequent characterization results, demonstrating that technique is effective speeding up exploration
